Good Morning Everyone! Weather is colder today. I managed to get some seeds started yesterday, Zinnias and Gourds. I hope my gourds do better this year, last year was the worst ever!
I do plan on getting some painting done today, and with luck I will!
Alittle worried about the Swine Flu that is happening, it's in my state....but we have been warned about something like this happening haven't we.
Stay Healthy!

Earth Day Blessings

Happy Earth Day!
Take some time today and go outside a listen to your world! Just sit, be silent and really listen. It's the only Earth we have let's try to keep better care of her.

Day of the Dead Gourd!

By Golly I think I did it! I'll post a picture later....after it dries and I get a picture. Looked around google images, got my bright paints out, grabed a gourd...or four, some foo-foo string and a few skulls and beads. I'll be putting one or two on Ebay in the next few days for the SEHA April Theme - Day of the Dead (Society of Ecletic Halloween Artists). Really had to think out side the box to get this done. I'll edit this later and post a pic.

Happy Easter / Ostara

I am struggling creating a Day of the Dead item for Society of Eclectic Halloween Artist April Theme.
But I wanted to stop in and wish you all and Happy Easter/Ostara Day!

I love the eggs, chicks and rabbits that have become symbols of Easter and how it makes children happy. I like the candy too!
I silently smile as churches do Easter egg hunts, that these symbols are pagan symbols of rebirth and new life. The name Easter is derived from Oestar, a goddess of spring and renewal.
The rabbit or hare was the symbol of new life, the date for Easter is determined by the moon.
So, Easter Sunday, if you go to an Easter sunrise service, hunt for colored eggs or eat marshmallow bunnies, remember you are indulging in pagan rituals that celebrate fertility and the advent of springtime!

Sharing this Quote

The last few days I have kept stumbling over this quote, seems to be everywhere. Maybe I was ment to share it?

"We are not evil. We don't harm or seduce people.
We are not dangerous. We are ordinary people like you.
We have families, jobs, hopes, and dreams. We are not a cult.
This religion is not a joke. We are not what you think we are from looking at T.V.
We are real. We laugh, we cry. We are serious. We have a sense of humor.
You don't have to be afraid of us. We don't want to convert you.
And please don't try to convert us.
Just give us the same right we give you--to live in peace.
We are much more similar to you than you think."

Winters Return

OK! OK! I was wrong! Winter has returned with cold and SNOW! It's all white outside and that white stuff is still falling from the sky! Brrr cold! I hope this is the last of it. But I do think snow is pretty, just not right now!

Springtime in the Swamp

I think spring is here....even if it's cold outside right now. Spring is giving Winter a mighty push! I have some flowers blooming, you know those spring type ones! I planted my snowpeas on St Patty's day, must are dug now up by some sort of swamp creatures. Before I had surgery I did manage to get about 25 more Curley Willows planted along my 'Swamp Path'. Down in the swamp is starting to show some color (green), and the Pussy Willows are in bud. Soon winter will be a brief memory.
I need to get some sort of motorvation to get some sort of art done! Something! Anything! Seems I just sit around and get nothing going or started.
